The Immigration Practice Area provides assistance to corporations, institutions, professionals and individuals with both business and family-based immigration needs. Our practice covers all aspects of business and family-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications, with concentrations in health-care and border practice.
We obtain all types of nonimmigrant visas for professional and skilled employees of a wide array of U.S. and foreign corporations, and for U.S. medical and research organizations. We also advise these employers in regard to compliance with disclosure and documentation requirements. We obtain U.S. permanent resident status and citizenship for company employees as well as for individual clients, and obtain labor certifications from the U.S. Department of Labor when required. We advise corporate clients in regard to the administration of all immigration-related matters, including compliance with regulatory requirements under the Immigration Act of 1990 and IRCA. We file applications with all INS Service Centers and District Offices, and are also experienced at filing immigrant visa applications with U.S. Consulates abroad.
Due to our location on the Canadian border, we are able to file certain applications for Canadian citizens in-person at a local port-of-entry, eliminating costly delays due to lengthy INS processing times. We also specialize in obtaining both nonimmigrant and immigrant visas for foreign physicians, including the preparation of J-1 waivers for foreign physicians.
