Mr. Griebel is a lawyer, licensed in New York, and is admitted to practice in Federal court, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He received a Bachelor’s degree in History and French from Indiana University, with Distinction and Honors. He also received a French Studies diploma from the University of Strasbourg, France. He received a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the School of Law at Indiana University.
Mr. Griebel is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Mr. Griebel has worked as a lawyer in both the public and private sectors. In the public sector, he was a prosecutor with the Erie County (New York) District Attorney’s office, an elbow law clerk for the Hon. Richard J. Arcara, U.S.D.J., and an attorney for the United States, first at the Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service, and then at the Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In the private sector, Mr. Griebel was a lawyer with one of Buffalo’s largest law firms. He now has his own law practice and office, located in downtown Buffalo, within walking distance of the area’s administrative offices as well as its local, state and federal courts.
